terrain/roundtrip distance - drive by

Directions: from Route 36 turn northeast from Lyn's Market onto New Road. This will curve around and eventually become Egpyt Road.

This part of East Fairfield was given the nickname of Little Egypt when the old Newton Farm (of which the cemetery was originally a part) produced a crop in a year when there were failures on all the neighboring farms. Officially the cemetery is named Mount Pleasant, but our family has always called it Little Egypt.

Find the monument from the picture below, featuring the darling child and her great-great-great-great-great-grandfather (Nathaniel Foster 1786-1870). From his wife Sally, proceed at 250 for 8 steps. On the right side of the log will be a pile of shale - please replace it well when you leave.
