The Double Horror of Fenley Place |
Synopsis (note - spoiler alert): A movie crew sets up to film a horror picture in River Heights. Complications set in when the scenes in the movie are duplicated in Fenley Place, a mansion across the street from the shooting. The whole production seems jinxed, and the owners of Fenley Place ask Nancy to investigate who is harassing everyone. The motive turns out to be revenge - the young location scout is the abandoned son of the owner
Publisher's synopsis:
Nancy visits a movie set and finds terror on location!
World-famous director Hank Steinberg is filming a horror flick in
Nancy's hometown of River Heights. The movie tells a
spine-tingling story about a haunted house. Most shocking of all,
though, is what's going on across the street at an old Victorian
mansion called Fenley Place. Whatever happens on the movie set is
mysteriously duplicated in the mansion: red smoke billows from the
chimney, a ghostly figure appears in the window, and blood oozes
from the walls. The special effects are a real scream, but Nancy
must find out who is behind them before the movie -- and the
mansion -- reach the final, horrifying climax!
Basic Plot: Bess gets a part in “Terror Weekend,” a horror
movie being filmed in River Heights at McCauley House, which is
across the street from spooky Fenley Place. The special
effects which are being created for the movie (blood red smoke
coming from the chimney, blowing out of windows, bleeding walls)
are being duplicated without explanation at Fenley Place.
People begin to think that the movie set is jinxed.

Minstrel cover by Bob
Berran: g. 26 - Nancy pointing out ghostly figure in
Fenley Place’s attic window to Bess. House is
mustard colored Victorian and spikes on iron gate are
accurate. “Ghost” is actually a nightgown on
monofilament wire (shouldn’t have head/body) |
Minstrel cover by Aleta
Jenks: pg. 41 - Nancy watching the filming of scene
where windows are blown out at McCauley House - actress
Jenny Logan is running from the house. Note that
painting has been reversed and “Aleta” is backwards |
