From the S&S Digest Plot File: Visiting friends in the Colorado Rockies, Nancy (wuth Bess and George) investigates some acts of sabotage at a wildlife refuge run by a local conservation group. She narrows her suspects to Jesse Smith, a worker at the refuge who mysteriously disappears after the latest act of violence, or Lucas Vaughn, a hunter who is against some of the conservation group's policies. Nancy eventually finds Jesse at an abandoned hunting lodge, and learns that he is being framed by his brother, Alex "The Cat" Catlin, a felon who recently escaped from prison. Alex was angry that Jesse had testified against him, and was trying to get revenge. When Alex shows up at the lodge, Nancy manages to outwit him and see that he gets sent back to prison.
